Music

                           Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;
                                 serve the Lord with gladness
                                 and come before his presence
with a song.

How do you explain how music touches the heart?  St. Jude's is dedicated to beautiful music, always seeking new ways to musically reach out in praise of God.  Here is a little history from our last 10 years.

In 2002, we were able to purchase an Allen Renaissance Organ with funds donated by our congregation.  That same year, we hired our first professional music director, Michael Morris.

Our 2005 expansion was the development of contemporary music through "Music of the Spirit" (MOTS).  It started as an open forum to try out, practice, and rehearse contemporary hymns of praise, and is now an integral part of our 10:30am worship.

In 2006, our youth choir transitioned from the leadership of Irene Kwok to Kathy Disney.  The choir is now known as "Children of the Spirit" (COTS).

In 2007, Laura Green became our Music Director and Organist, and Billie Bandermann became our Choir Director.

In 2009, Michael Morris directed a stunning production for Epiphany of Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors."

In 2010, a Steinway baby grand piano was purchased for the sanctuary.  With the growth of the choir, the addition of MOTS, and the new piano, the choir area had to be reorganized to make everything fit!

In late 2010 and early 2011, the inspiring 45-minute Christmas musical "No Wonder!" was performed by 16 young cast members, primarily our Children of the Spirit (COTS) children's choir.
