Hospitality

The Parish Life / Hospitality ministry is one where the concept of many hands make light work is truly observed and appreciated. Members of St Jude’s generously provide food and time to support our community life. Please consider volunteering for your favorite parish life event.

Coffee Hour – Karen Leasure is chair of this committee and would welcome new hosts for either 8:00 or 10:30 am coffee hour. The Coffee Hour hosts prepare coffee, sets up tea, cocoa and juice and cleans up. A separate signup for refreshments (cookies, cake, fruit, snacks, etc.) provides an opportunity for parishioners to celebrate a special anniversary (wedding, birthday, etc.) with the parish community.

Pantry Supplies – Karen Leasure has taken on oversight of the parish life pantry – coffee cups, plates, napkins, etc. Since it is more economical to buy in bulk for our communal needs these supplies are for any parish event. If you are the lead for a special event and supplies are low, contact Karen or Pat with your list (at least one week in advance).

Receptions – Jean Chandler coordinates our ministry to those who need help planning and executing gatherings following occasional services. This year there were several memorial/funeral services, and other special events. This is a quiet ministry and many members of the congregation willingly participate as they are able. We are grateful to all who do this ministry.

Small Dinner Groups – Linda Morris again coordinated the organization of this activity. This is a great way for people to socialize and get acquainted in smaller groups. Those who participate enjoy this activity very much.

Farewell Celebrations – In 2010, both our Rector, Karen Siegfriedt, and Associate Pastor, Dawn Teuthorn, answered calls to other parishes. As an expression of our appreciation for their faithful ministry we had gala celebration between Sunday Worship with food, balloons and gifts. Many were involved in making this happen.
